Perseverance Strategies for Kids

Embarking on a journey toward a goal is like setting sail on an adventure. The winds may not always be in your favor, but it’s perseverance that acts as the compass, guiding you through challenges and steering you toward success. Learning to persevere is a crucial life skill that empowers you to overcome obstacles, build resilience and achieve your dreams. That is why it is so important that we teach perseverance strategies in elementary school!

This perseverance strategies mini-book has been designed by our experienced teacher team to help your students on their very own journey toward a goal they have set for themselves. The resource is your students’ very own roadmap to success that they can pull out whenever the going gets tough on their journey. From setting realistic goals to developing a growth mindset, each page is designed to help your students navigate the unpredictable seas of life with confidence.

Learning Perseverance Strategies Matters!

Our students all have goals. They could be academic, sporting, cultural, spiritual or personal. This mini-book will help your students articulate these goals, along with a perseverance plan to maximize their chances of success.  

Some of the life skills your students will learn by engaging with this perseverance strategies mini-book include:

1. Goal Setting Mastery – This mini-book will teach your students how to craft their goals with precision and clarity. 
2. Time Management Tactics – Students will learn the importance of listing the steps needed in order to achieve their goal, as well as identifying how frequently these actions need to be taken. 
3. Growth Mindset Cultivation – By identifying coping strategies they can use when the road gets a little bumpy, students can harness a growth mindset by transforming setbacks into stepping stones toward success.
4. Support System Development – By identifying and listing a support team, students will build a network of allies who will encourage and support them during challenging times.

How to Create This Perseverance Mini-Book

Use the dropdown menu on the Download button above to access either the quick-print PDF or the editable Google Slides version of this resource. (Note: You will be prompted to make a copy of the Google Slides template before accessing it.)

This resource contains four Letter-sized pages. Each page includes two mini-book pages (eight pages in total). To assemble the mini-book, follow these simple steps.

1. Download the PDF version of the reader by clicking the Download button.
2. On your printer, select double-sided printing. Be sure to flip on the short edge.
3. Compile the pages, making sure the first page is at the bottom of your pile. 
4. Fold your collection of pages in half to make a Half Letter-sized book.
