What Are Some Different Ways to Represent Fractions?

When students are learning to represent fractions, they may learn to show models in many different ways. Besides using a numerical fraction, there are several ways students can use manipulatives or drawings to help understand numbers that are less than 1. Some examples of fractional representations include:

  • Fractions on a number line
  • Fractions in a set
  • Fractions of a shape

Interactive Fraction Games – For Kids!

Teach Starter has created a simple-to-use set of interactive task cards for your young students to test their understanding of different fraction models. Students will answer 24 different questions that require an understanding of fractions represented in different forms. If students click the correct answer, the slide will advance to the next question, if students answer the question incorrectly, they will be guided to go back to the question and try again.
