This resource includes two lessons/experiments to teach your students all about butterfly camouflage and let them experience it firsthand. The two activities included are

  • Can You Find Me? Butterfly Hunt – Send your students on a butterfly hunt! Students search for camouflaged butterflies in the classroom environment, sharpening their observation skills and the ability to draw conclusions.
  • Creating Camouflaging Butterflies: Students will spend time creating and camouflaging butterflies in the classroom and then search for those camouflaged butterflies hiding in plain sight to discover how their colors and markings help them blend into nature.

This printable butterfly camouflage activity pack includes a teacher instruction page and additional graphic organizers to help students summarize their learning and draw conclusions from their butterfly camouflage activity experiment.
