Autumn Counting Activities for Foundation Students

Are you on the hunt for autumn maths activities for foundation students? We’ve got a handy set of clip cards to help your students work on counting with one-to-one correspondence. This hands-on activity will have students look at groups of objects (up to 10) and count them.

To play, students will look at the pictures on each card and count them. They will then clip a peg on one of the answer choices. Afterwards, students will flip the card over to see if the peg matches the correct answer (indicated by a teacher-drawn star on the back of each card).

Through this activity, students will show they can count objects up to ten.

Easily Prepare This Resource for Your Students

Use the dropdown icon on the Download button to choose between the colour PDF, black and white PDF, or editable Google Slides version of this resource.

Provide each student with a collection of clothes pegs for this activity. Draw a star behind the correct answer on the back of each card.

Print on cardstock for added durability and longevity. Place all pieces in a folder or large envelope for easy access.

To keep the task cards out of pockets or under desks, punch a hole in each corner to place them on a binder ring.
